Rubin Run 2026: A Meaningful Way to Spend Mother’s Day

Rubin Run 2026: A Meaningful Way to Spend Mother’s Day

Join the Rubin Run This Mother’s Day for a Morning That Gives Back

There’s something special about starting Mother’s Day with fresh air, movement, and a sense of community. The Rubin Run brings people together for a morning that’s active, uplifting, and full of positive energy, whether you’re running the course, walking with family, or cheering others on along the way.

A Community Tradition That Brings People Together

For more than four decades, the Rubin Run has been a cherished tradition at the JCC, bringing together generations of families, friends, and neighbors in a way that feels both familiar and meaningful.

What began in 1981 as a way to promote healthy living has grown into one of Bergen County’s most anticipated community events. Today, it continues to reflect what the JCC is all about: connection, wellness, and showing up for one another. Each year, the event honors the legacy of Leonard Rubin, whose vision helped shape a tradition that still brings the community together more than 40 years later.

A Race Designed for Everyone

The Rubin Run is designed to meet people where they are—whether you’re a seasoned runner, a first-time participant, or simply looking to enjoy the morning with family.

Participants can choose between a 10K run or a 5K run/walk, both professionally timed and set along scenic, tree-lined streets through Tenafly, Englewood Cliffs, and Englewood. The courses are as enjoyable as they are energizing, offering a great experience for those looking to challenge themselves or simply take it all in.

After the main races, the focus shifts to the next generation, with kids’ fun runs that bring excitement, encouragement, and plenty of smiles to the day.

From start to finish, the atmosphere is welcoming, supportive, and filled with a sense of shared experience.

Running for Something Bigger

Beyond the race itself, the Rubin Run carries a deeper purpose that brings the entire event together. Proceeds directly support programs at the Guttenberg Center for Special Services, which provides essential resources and support for individuals with disabilities. These programs focus on building communication skills, fostering independence, and helping participants grow with confidence as active, valued members of the community.

Every registration, every step, and every moment spent at the event contributes to expanding access to these programs, helping ensure that more individuals and families can benefit from the care and community the JCC provides. It’s a reminder that something as simple as showing up can have a meaningful impact.

A Meaningful Way to Celebrate Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is about spending time together and the Rubin Run offers a way to do that in a setting that feels both uplifting and memorable. It might look like running alongside your mom, walking with your kids, or gathering at the finish line to celebrate together. It might be the shared experience of trying something new, or continuing a tradition you’ve built over the years. However you choose to take part, it’s a morning that naturally brings people closer, creating moments that feel easy, joyful, and worth remembering.
