Heart to Heart

Heart to Heart was established after the devastating atrocities of October 7th as a safe place, that feels like home, for the many Israeli families who have escaped and continue escaping the war. Through a generous team of community volunteers, programs were created for the children of these families, for as long as needed.

The program is offered on-site at the Kaplen JCC at the Palisades, with access to our amazing arts, recreation and education programs. Please contact Elana Prezant at eprezant@jccotp.org with any questions about participation in the Heart to Heart program.

We’ve finally returned home after a challenging 30 hours without sleep. I can’t close my eyes without expressing my profound gratitude to this incredible group that truly made all the difference. First and foremost, they brought calmness to our hearts and order to our minds. You poured your heart and soul into every task with steadfast commitment. May you always be on the giving side.

I want to thank the Heart to Heart team who became a nurturing haven for my boys over the course of three weeks. It was the only stable thing we had during this month. Your team enveloped us with boundless warmth, love, and an eagerness to assist – a gesture that is truly remarkable and not to be taken for granted. The children will surely remember the experience and so will we. Thanks again for everything, in the hope of better days.
