Michael Reingold has played a vital role in the administration and development of Thurnauer for more than 28 years. In addition to his role as Associate Director, Michael teaches musicianship, French horn, and music appreciation and was the recipient of the JCC’s 2010 Staff Recognition award. Michael has a Masters in Music from SUNY Stony Brook, a bachelor’s degree from Stanford University and was a visiting student at Indiana University School of Music. He studied horn with Betty Levine, Forrest Standley, and William Purvis.

Michael is also active as a producer, performer and consultant. He is the Founder and Artistic Director of NYC House Concerts, which has presented more than 500 intimate concerts in New York and New Jersey since 2005, featuring New York’s leading ensembles and recitalists. Michael has performed with orchestras in the US, England, Israel and Asia and is a long-time member of the New Amsterdam Symphony Orchestra. He was on the staff of the Kinhaven Music School for 17 summers and is a former member of its Board. He has been an advisor to chamber music series in Manhattan, including Musicians from Marlboro, Fabbri Chamber Concerts and Music Mondays.
