Jr Inman
Coach JR Inman is one of the most decorated basketball figures in Tri State Basketball History. The Pomona New York Native was selected first team All State of New Jersey in both his junior and senior year at Saint Joseph Regional H.S where he currently is the All Time Leading Scorer.
In JR’s senior season he led the Saint Joseph Green Knights to a 26-2 record and also lead his team to the third Bergen County Jamboree title in Saint Joseph Regional history. Coach JR’s on court success didn’t stop their as he would spend his next 4 years in college at Rutgers University where he would collect another 1,000 points being the 36th player in Scarlet Knight history to achieve this merit.
Graduating with a bachelors degree in Sports Communications, coach JR was invited to numerous NBA camps following his senior campaign. Following the 2009 NBA Draft, his professional basketball resume would begin in the Czech Republic where he played for Nova Hut Ostrava.
Over the next 5 years he would play in over 12 countries worldwide, Japan, Uruguay, Israel, Lithuania, & Kosovo to name a few. His renown basketball player prowess ended in 2015 when he played his last professional season with the Westchester Knicks, NBA G league team.
Coach Inman, who also had a stint with the Harlem Globetrotters, has since returned home to the Rockland/Bergen County area where he has found a passion in coaching and working with children.
I’m new but hope to be the impact staff member of the year
For the past 5 years coach JR has had numerous leadership positions coaching youth basketball. As a sole proprietor, coach JR established the Rocktown Monarchs Basketball program from its incubation period and cultivated his program to an elite level.
Coach Jr’s teams have competed in some elite tournaments against nationally ranked competition including Hoop Groop Jamfest, Rumble in the Bronx & Gauchos Roundball Classic to name a few. His M.O. as a coach has always been maximizing the potential with all of his players regardless of ability, athleticism or skill level.
When the Coronavirus pandemic hit, Coach JR persevered through a challenging time by re incarnating his company brand and in December of 2021, he launched “Fitness Fabs Inc”. It was his belief, that the quarantine life we were forced to succumb to, created the challenge dor children to remain active. And so Jr’s focus would shift to an emphasis on strength & conditioning as a means for helping his student athletes stay motivated through would appears to be the hardest point of their lives.
And now, as Fitness Fabs Inc. & Kaplan JCC at the Palisades form this new bond, we have high hopes that this program will create a long term sustaining service for aspiring hoopsters from the local communities who share the passion of basketball, and are searching for a hoopers haven they can call home.
