4/20 - Clashing Views of Human Nature: The Thought of Hobbes, Locke, and Rousseau
Much of the way we understand modern society and government was shaped by the thought of three men: Thomas Hobbes, John Locke, and Jean Jacques Rousseau. In this talk, we will review their different philosophies of human nature and the correspondent types of government best suited to accommodating that nature. Their ideas on politics are over 300 years old, yet they still shape our views of politics today.
