About Cinematec

Celebrating Israeli Films, is dedicated to bringing acclaimed Israeli films and filmmakers to the USA. Established by Esther (Etti) Inbal in 2016, under the initial name Israeli Americans Community Cinematec (IAC Cinematec), the organization operates within Kaplen JCC on The Palisades in Tenafly, NJ. Supported by the Israeli American Council and the Consulate General of Israel in New York, CINEMATEC aims to foster communities of Israeli and American enthusiasts of Israeli cinema. Beyond showcasing films, the organization strives to create an engaging atmosphere for understanding and discussing life in Israel and broader topics as presented by Israeli filmmakers. Cinematec serves as a platform for cultural exchange and meaningful dialogue, contributing to the appreciation and exploration of Israeli cinema in the United States.

The Founder

Etti Inbal, Ph.D. earned a Doctor of Philosophy from the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel. She lectured at the Hebrew University on Science, Education, and Technology and led the integration of technology education into the central district of Israel. In the US, as a scientist at the Harvard School of Education she developed leading educational software in science education and received Parents’ Choice Award. Later she founded MediaKid Computer Education Center In Brookline MA. Moving to NYC Etti Co Chaired Israeli Leadership Conference and lead the section “Inspired By Art”
