Social Skills, Sunday FunDay!, On Our Own and Project PALS

Our Sunday programs are designed to develop socialization and communication skills through age appropriate structured activities in a natural environment.

All programs are facilitated by experienced, caring professionals. All groups are thoughtfully formed based on age and compatibility.

An intake interview is required for all new potential participants prior to finalizing registration.

The Guttenberg Center for Special Services at the JCC is a qualified agency through NJ Childrens System of Care/PerformCare and DDD.

Classes

Sunday FunDay!

Ages 4-8
Designed to develop socialization and communication skills through age-appropriate structured activities such as morning meeting, music therapy and art.

This class is for children with intellectual and developmental delays and autism.

A high level of supervision is provided by professionals and trained volunteers.

The JCC will follow all federal, state and local safety protocols, guidelines, and health requirements.

Sunday Social Skills

Ages 5-15
Provides age-appropriate activities that enhance pro-social skills development in a natural setting for children with high functioning autism, Asperger Syndrome, ADD/ADHD, and learning and communication differences, who are conversational and can independently participate within a 1:2 staffing ratio.

Activities include social skills, sports and games, music therapy, art, outdoor play, choice time and more.

Activities include social skills, sports, fitness and games, art, outdoor play, choice time and more.

Sunday On Our Own

Ages 17+
This life skills training program is for teens and young adults with sufficient self-help skills to independently participate within a 1:3 staffing ratio. The focus is on interacting with peers, developing pro-social behaviors and independent living skills.

Project PALS – Tuesdays

Ages 17+
This afternoon program is for teens and young adults with sufficient self-help skills to independently participate within a 1:3 staffing ratio. Activities include swim, life skills, music appreciation and cooking.
