Ages 8-14
JCC Youth Theatre teaches musical theatre skills, with all students performing one musical in the Winter and one in the Spring. All who register will audition and be cast in a role! Youth Theatre offers children and young teens the opportunity to shine in an environment of teamwork, with a focus on creativity and experiences that build self-confidence. Our productions are fully staged with sets, costumes, and lighting.

INTO THE WOODS JR.
Be careful what you wish for, as Stephen Sondheim’s and James Lapine’s cockeyed fairytale comes to life in this adaptation of their groundbreaking, Tony Award-winning musical. Into the Woods JR. features all of your favorite characters — Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (and his beanstalk) and the Witch — in this lyrically rich retelling of classic Brothers Grimm fables.
Placement auditions: 1/27 5:30-7:30pm (registration must be complete by 1/26)
Performances: 5/17 at 11am and 2pm

Musical Theatre focuses on bringing together the disciplines of singing, acting, and dancing to create an end of semester parent presentation. Musical Theatre uses scripted material to build skills of confidence, characterization, vocal projection, diction, stage direction, and choreography. In addition, our core values of team work, creativity & self-expression, and discipline are focused on in each class. Students enjoy working on scenes and songs from their favorite musicals! Our beginner classes focus on building skills of confidence, communication, self-expression, language, listening, sharing and teamwork. Students are welcomed into the magical world of theatre and learn that drama class is a place where they can make new friends while learning how to sing, dance, and act. Students enjoy theatre games, scene work, monologues, and songs from some of their favorite musicals in each class! Ages 5-7 Teacher: Kathryn DiPasquale
Acting is simply make-believe the audience is willing to believe. In Acting and Improv, students gain confidence, conquer shyness and learn skills, while having fun! Improvisation teaches us how to develop characters, through storytelling and self-expression, while feeling creative excitement and having a lot of laughs! Students enjoy theatre and improv activities, scene work, and monologue each class! Teacher: Adam Sietz is a top voice over artist and stand-up comic. He’s performed in Broadway shows, Films, TV series, Video Games and over 101 commercials.

Acting engages students in a process of expression through artistic form, a method which involves study, dialogue, exploration, and performance. Using the cleverest comedies and monologues, students learn to take risks with vocal and physical expression. Our acting students develop a language for the creative spirit and a facility for critical thinking using exciting classic scripts. FROZEN JR.
A story of true love and acceptance between sisters, Frozen JR. expands upon the emotional relationship and journey between Princesses Anna and Elsa. When faced with danger, the two discover their hidden potential and the powerful bond of sisterhood. With a cast of beloved characters and loaded with magic, adventure, and plenty of humor, Frozen JR. is sure to thaw even the coldest heart.
