Funds raised allow seniors to “age in place” and remain socially, mentally and physically connected to the world around them.
The JCC Senior Services Department delivers a broad range of social, cultural and recreational programs for older adults and their caregivers including serving free hot kosher meals to seniors, caregiver support groups, preventative health screenings and other educational resources.
Over the 18 years that Lavish Lunches has been held, participants have enjoyed breakfasts, lunches and dinners and entertainment with delectable menus – featuring world-famous guest chefs and culinary experts.
The JCC also hosts a Mitzvah Lunch for seniors and their care-givers providing everyone who attends an opportunity to glimpse first-hand the joy the JCC brings into the lives of seniors every day. Due to COVID this past year, meals were delivered to seniors at home and entertainment was provided on zoom. By participating in the Mitzvah lunch, participants get to see first-hand how their support is helping to make a difference in the lives of our seniors.
