A planned gift is a tax-smart way that can help ensure our children and grandchildren will enjoy a flourishing Jewish community and place to celebrate their heritage and traditions. Charitable gift annuities, remainder trusts, gifts of securities, and bequests can be made to the JCC. The funds are managed through the Endowment Foundation of the Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey.
BEQUESTS to the JCC allow you to create a legacy for future generations. Consult your attorney to name the JCC as a beneficiary in your will. It is also possible to name programs or dedicate physical facilities at the JCC.
CURRENT GIFTS are any gifts transferred immediately from you to the JCC. Current gift donations include the outright transfer of cash, real estate, securities, tangible or intangible personal property or insurance.
DEFERRED GIFTS include bequests through wills and life income agreements, such as charitable gift annuities and remainder trusts.
RESTRICTED GIFTS benefit specific programs chosen by you, the donor. Funds may be designated for any JCC program or service.
UNRESTRICTED GIFTS are especially valuable to the JCC, allowing us to adjust to changing circumstances and maintain our high standard of service and quality. Unrestricted gifts support ongoing programming and activities not entirely funded through other sources.
By creating or adding to an Endowment fund, you can ensure vital JCC programs have stable financial support. Endowment Funds are critical to helping the JCC meet the needs of the community, now and in the future.
Endowments are gifts that “keep on giving.” Only a small amount of your fund’s value is expended each year, so the fund lives on, creating an inspiring Jewish legacy.

HOW TO ESTABLISH AN ENDOWMENT FUND AT THE JCC
For a charitable, tax-deductible donation of $10,000 or more, you can establish a personal endowment fund at the JCC. We are continually evolving to meet the needs of our community and we pride ourselves on our ability to offer programs and services that enrich our members’ lives. We invite you to consider establishing an endowment and help ensure the JCC will be a source of strength for the entire community for generations to come. To set up an endowment or to learn more about giving opportunities at the JCC, please contact Jordan B. Shenker at 201.408.1400 or email@example.com.
Donations can be made to individual endowment funds in honor of a special occasion such as a wedding or anniversary, a Bar/Bat Mitzvah, the birth of a child, or in memory of loved ones.
The JCC sends notification cards to recipients and publishes the tributes in our agency newspaper, In The Center.
The minimum donation for a tribute card is $18. To make a tribute, please contact Fran Koszer at firstname.lastname@example.org or 201.408.1404.
TREE OF LIFE
Looking for a special way to honor a loved one or celebrate a birth, bar/bat mitzvahs or wedding while also supporting programming and services for seniors at the JCC? The Tree of Life, a hand-painted mural that decorates the JCC Senior Adult Lounge, is a perfect choice, where you can purchase permanent inscriptions on leaves or stones that will be seen by your JCC community. Contact Helene Schwartz 201.408.1451 for more information.
