On a special night that raises funds to support scholarships, the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades welcomes ELI MANNING to help us celebrate local student-athletes and induct the New Jersey Jewish Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2022.

The Class of 2022 for the New Jersey Jewish Sports Hall of Fame

To celebrate our own TRACY WOLFSON’s reporting at the NCAA National Championship Game, everyone who buys at least two individual tickets by the time the ball is tipped on Monday, April 4th will be entered into a drawing for a photo op with ELI MANNING.

To enter, get tickets here by Monday, April 4th

The Kaplen JCC on the Palisades presents a doubleheader for the history books:

  • The 5th Annual Sports Night of Champions reception and scholarship ceremony, with a special appearance by former New York Giants Quarterback and two-time Super Bowl MVP ELI MANNING.
  • The induction ceremony for the New Jersey Jewish Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2022: four-sport and Emmy-nominated announcer KENNY ALBERT, Emmy-nominated CBS sportscaster TRACY WOLFSON, former professional soccer player YAEL AVERBUCH WEST and President of Maccabi USA, JEFF BUKANTZ.

With an incredible work ethic, iron- man mentality and natural leadership skill as constants throughout his 16 years in the NFL, Eli Manning made a name for himself as one of the elite quarterbacks in the game. Eli will join us in a moderated discussion during the evening’s program, and we know our community will give him an enthusiastic welcome.

As part of the Sports Night celebration, two Bergen County high school seniors will be presented with the Joseph Taub Scholar Athlete Award and receive a $5,400 scholarship in recognition for their excellence in sports, school and community. The first Joseph Taub Coach of the Year award will also be presented along with an $1,800 award. These awards demonstrate the JCC’s investment in helping young people achieve their dreams. The Scholar Athlete and Coach of the Year Awards are made possible by The Joseph and Arlene Taub Foundation in memory of Joseph Taub z”l.

The Sports Hall of Fame will also honor two New Jersey students as the New Jersey JCC Scholar-Athletes of the Year. Selected from nominees from the thirteen JCC’s across the state, these awardees will, in addition to athletic and academic excellence, represent the Hall of Fame’s emphasis on community service, leadership and character. Each awardee will receive a $1,800 scholarship.

An elegant cocktail reception and a live auction with can’t-be-missed items will delight you and other sports fans in the community.

For the safety of our community, proof of Covid-19 vaccination must be provided by all attendees.
