ALLYSON CAROLAN, (Director, Dance and Dramatic Arts) holds a BFA in Music Theater from The Hartt School. Allyson is a highly accomplished, passionate, caring and results-oriented performing arts instructor with over 9 years of experience as the Director of the JCC Dance School and 12 years of successful dance and drama instruction at all age levels. In 2018, Allyson became the Director of Dance and Dramatic Arts. Allyson is passionate about spreading her love of dance and drama with our students and our community.
DEBORAH DINE, a veteran of Broadway, television, and film, starred in her favorite roles as Stella in Streetcar Named Desire on Broadway, and Margot in Death Comes to Us All, Mary Agnes (off Broadway). She has also held multiple roles in Louie, Law & Order, and Law & Order SVU. Deborah is an inspiring teacher and acting coach who makes an immediate and significant difference in her students' skill levels and performance ability.
KATHRYN DIPASQUALE, teacher, is a graduate of Temple University with a BA in Theatre, Communications and Dance. She has been involved with different aspects of theatre for over 30 years. She has acted in many musicals (playing her favorite roll as the Scarecrow in the “Wizard of Oz”), directed several shows, choreographed, made costumes and much more. Kathryn has been involved with Children’s Theatre for over 15 years and loves to work with children of all ages. Her “Great Pretenders” group (ages 4-13) has performed at many elderly homes, veteran hospitals, and several homeless shelters. Teaching theatre to the next generation is a true passion of hers. Kathryn is very excited to be teaching at Kaplen JCC and help spread knowledge of the theatrical arts to the youth in this community.
KATHERINE KEYES' broadway credits include Madame Chow in La Boheme and Choir Member in Coram Boy. Classically trained, she has sung over 1,000 performances at Lincoln Center as a member of the New York City Opera Regular Chorus, as well as appearing in multiple telecasts on the PBS Great Performances series. In addition to singing many small roles at NYCO and leads with their Education Department, she has sung over 40 roles in opera and oratorio with regional companies, including her favorite role, the Witch in Hansel and Gretel, Old Lady in Candide, Rebecca Nurse in Crucible and as alto soloist in Messiah, Elijah, Mozart and Durufle Requiems. She is a member of Actor's Equity, SAG-AFTRA, AGMA and National Association of Teachers of Singing and is a certified teacher of the Alexander Technique.
JENNA MATE is a director and teaching artist who has worked extensively in Los Angeles and The Hamptons. She holds an MFA in Directing from Stony Brook University, and an MA in Educational Theater from University of Houston, where she had the opportunity to study with the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London. Recent directing credits include Thoroughly Modern Millie at Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center and Fiddler on the Roof at the JCCOTP this past summer! Jenna will join the faculty at The New York Film Academy this Fall. She is also a voice and acting coach who works with both professional and aspiring performers. Her original musical, Eco, was featured at the New York Musical Festival, and continues to be developed. She is overjoyed to work with young artists at the JCCOTP, and thanks Allyson for the opportunity.
Jonathan Rodriguez is thrilled to be joining the JCC theater community! A Teaneck native, Jon has spent the past 5 years teaching acting and musical theater. Before that, Jon was the original Joe Pesci in the Las Vegas company of Jersey Boys and has performed across the country with various productions. He currently enjoys singing the songs of Ritchie Valens with a Buddy Holly tribute show.
ADAM SIETZ is an award winning actor, stand-up comedian, writer, producer and now teacher. As a performer, facilitator, and internationally speaker, Adam's credits include BROADWAY: Barefoot in the Park, Talk Radio & the Ritz. Film work includes The Academy Award nominated films Sweet & Lowdown and Little Children and TV credits include the Emmy award winning series Law & Order, Sopranos, Chappelle's Show, and the Chris Rock Show. He has also worked as a member of The National Lampoon Radio Hour and did voiceovers for hundreds of commercials. In the world of video games, he has done work on Bio Shock 1 & 2, GTA (5x and Neverwinter Nights II), which won him the 2007 VG Character of the year award. Adam spent years as a voice cast member on the perennial kid's favorites, Dora the Explorer, Go Diego Go and Wonderpets. He is currently working as a voice Mr. Potatohead for Lays Potato Chips and he is Wally Kazaam's dad and Gork the Ork on Nella the Princess Knight for Nick Jr. As a teacher, coach and trainer for more than 20 years, Adam has collaborated with many corporate clients from AT&T - Zales. Always looking to inspire others to live their dream, Adam coaches and trains people of all ages, from 5 year old children, at risk teens, know it all adults, and wonderfully seasoned seniors.
