Ages 8-17
JCC Youth Theatre teaches acting and musical theater skills, with all students performing one musical in the Winter and one in the Spring. All who register will audition and be cast! Youth Theatre offers children and young teens the opportunity to shine in an environment of teamwork, with a focus on creativity and experiences that build self-confidence. Mary Poppins Jr.
The jack-of-all trades, Bert, introduces us to England in 1910 and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family members how to value each other again. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren't the only ones upon whom she has a profound effect. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that "Anything can happen if you let it."
Placement auditions: 1/25 5:30-7:30pm (registration must be complete by 1/24)
Performances: 5/23 at 11am and 2pm
Musical Theatre focuses on bringing together the disciplines of singing, acting, and dancing to create an end of semester parent presentation. Musical Theatre uses scripted material to build skills of confidence, characterization, vocal projection, diction, stage direction, and choreography. In addition, our core values of team work, creativity & self-expression, and discipline are focused on in each class. Students enjoy working on scenes and songs from their favorite musicals! Ages 10-12
MATILDA JR.
Rebellion is nigh in Matilda JR., a gleefully witty ode to the anarchy of childhood and the power of imagination! This story of a girl who dreams of a better life and the children she inspires will have audiences rooting for the "revolting children" who are out to teach the grown-ups a lesson. Matilda has astonishing wit, intelligence... and special powers! Packed with high-energy dance numbers and catchy songs, Matilda JR. is a joyous power romp. Children and adults alike will be thrilled and delighted by the story of the special little girl with an extraordinary imagination.

DISNEY'S ALADDIN KIDS
When the street urchin, Aladdin, vies for the attention of the beautiful princess, Jasmine, he uses a genie's magic power to become a prince in order to marry her. Iago, Jafar, the Genie, and more are here in Disney’s Aladdin KIDS, a musical adventure filled with magic, mayhem and the power of love.
