Virtual Family Dementia Caregiver Supports 
We understand that current times create additional challenges and isolation for carepartners. Support groups provide an opportunity for carepartners, families and friends to learn more about dementias like Alzheimer’s disease, share their feelings and concerns, and support each other in coping with the effects of the disease. Introducing Our Senior IPAD Lending Library

If you are or know of a Senior Adult experiencing feelings of social isolation during this pandemic, we can help. Our JCC Senior Adult Department offers a daily selection of programs that provide socialization, exercise, learning, laughing and even “singing to the Oldies”!

The iPad Lending Library is our newest offering that delivers a preloaded iPad to any Senior who needs, with and ongoing tech support to ensure every senior can benefit from the array of live and interactive classes. Choose from 20 classes each week including daily chair exercise, musical concerts, interactive social programs, games, art tours and hobby classes.

Join us for the following engaging hobby classes. 
These classes takes place on Zoom. An email with Zoom login details will be sent to registered students.

Ceramics - Bisque Ware Glazing (all levels)
Instructor: Patricia Wong

In this fun class students will glaze bisque ware with colorful glazes.  At the end of the session, all glazed pieces will be fired and returned to students.  Each student will receive four bisque ware pieces and glazes. 

Create a Fun and Funky Fish Pillow 
Instructor: Ardis Blaustein

Join us as we follow step by step instructions to sew a basic fish-shaped pillow (no sewing machine required). Then you can either continue to follow our simple directions or create a masterpiece that's completely your own. We'll supply fabrics, embroidery floss, needles and thread and lots of fun and inspiration.

Paint like Paul Klee
Instructor: Ardis Blaustein

Create a group of watercolor paintings using Paul Klee's style as inspiration.

Dr. Rabins will address some of the challenges that care-partners face while offering useful takeaway messages to cope with their own needs and emotions. He will share ideas on improving the lives of those living with dementia and those caring for them.   

Peter V. Rabins, MD, MPH, is professor emeritus of psychiatry and medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He was the founding director of its geriatric psychiatry program and the first holder of the Richman Family Professorship of Alzheimer Disease and Related Disorders.
