Jerusalem of Gold: Songs and Tales from Jerusalem

Discover the beautiful Israeli songs of the holy city Jerusalem. Elad Kabilio will take you on a musical journey of the streets of Jerusalem, its famous sites and fascinating history with songs from the founding days of Israel to this day. Featuring an exciting mix of liturgical songs, war-time songs, pop songs and more, we will celebrate the city of gold and its people.

Elad Kabilio is celebrated by the New York Times for “his vibrant playing full of texture and nuance”. Israeli Cellist Elad Kabilio has dual career as performer and lecturer. He currently teaches at the famed Manhattan School of Music and gives lectures through the concert series MusicTalks. Elad is a popular presenter on music at our JCCU.

TLV Graffiti - Between the Colors - Art and Culture

With Maya Lotan
TLV Graffiti – Color, technique, art and social statements – in this course we will look at works by artists and creators of graffiti and street art from Tel Aviv-Jaffa. We'll discuss the uniqueness of the Israeli artists, the different techniques that the artists use in their work, and try them out. We will look at the social issues that the Graffiti in Tel Aviv expresses and try to understand the Israeli mood through the artist’s work. 
 
Maya Lotan is a tour-guide and Jewish educator. She holds a master’s degree in Israeli Studies with a specialization in modern history.
