DR. RUTH AT THE JCC
Dr. Ruth at the JCC, really!
We know Dr. Ruth as the therapist with the heavy accent who spoke frankly about intimate matters on her call-in radio show. She certainly is that, but what maybe you didn't know is the fascinating life she led before. Ruth Westheimer escaped from the Nazis at age ten aboard a Kindertransport. She was a sniper with the Haganah in Israel before immigrating to the US where she worked as a maid before becoming a professor and a celebrity.
Come hear Dr. Ruth discuss the role of resilience in her life and how we can apply it to our own lives. She recently wrote a book for children on this, Roller-Coaster Grandma: The Amazing Story of Dr. Ruth.
Dr. Ruth may just speak about and take questions on the other thing too... skillfully handled in the context of a family program!
