Auditions will be held: Sun, Mar 4, 1:30-5:30 pm.
The 2018 Neus Family Flute Master Class will be taught by Demarre McGill on Wed, March 14, 4 pm - 7 pm.
Master Classes are open to pre-college musicians from a wide range of ages and levels of training. The criteria for selecting participants include good preparation, serious dedication, and the ability to respond to suggestions in a class situation, whether the student is performing a standard concerto or a piece from the beginning repertoire. Students chosen to perform must be residents of New Jersey, New York or Connecticut Students who cannot attend on the scheduled audition day may submit their audition via video.
• Beginning Students: one memorized piece with which the student feels comfortable
• Intermediate and Advanced Students: Two contrasting selections of the teacher’s choice.
(One movement of a sonata would constitute a selection.)
Repertoire must be memorized, except for flute sonatas.
To audition for a Neus Family Flute Master Class, students must be approved for nomination by their teachers.
WHO SHOULD SUBMIT THE NOMINATION DETAILS
Nomination fees and details may be paid by either the families of the applicants or the teacher. In most cases, families submit the fees and information.
