The Supreme Court and Its JusticesMilton Heumann, Professor of Political Science at Rutgers where he teaches courses on civil liberties, the politics of criminal justice and judicial decision-making, will talk about constitutional decision-making in a democracy. How was the court designed to work and what are the realities? What is the future of the highest court in the land?
Alfred Hitchcock: Master of SuspenseBrian Rose, Fordham University Professor will examine Hitchcock’s astonishing career and discuss his artistry and influence. Using film clips from classics such as “Rebecca”, “Notorious”, “Psycho”, “The Birds”and “Vertigo”, Professor Rose will explain why Hitchcock is the most famous film director in the world.
Art Deco New York: From the Chrysler Building to the Grand ConcourseAnthony Robins, historian and former officer at the New York Landmarks Commission will lecture on New York’s Deco buildings that serve as prized remnants of a distant-yet-modern past that still helps to define the city’s visual identity.
Ethical Issues in Organ TransplantationDr. Kenneth Prager, Professor of Clinical Medicine, Director of Clinical Ethics and Chairman of the Medical Ethics Committee at Columbia University Medical Center will discuss the many issues surrounding organ transplantation including the right way to procure and fairest way to distribute this “gift of life”.
