This demonstrational class is for anyone who has never sewn before, or who has a sewing machine that they have no idea how to use.  You will learn how to thread and operate a sewing machine as well as the functions of various stitches.  You will learn an easy, novel way to insert regular zippers as well as the correct way to apply invisible zippers.  A variety of methods for doing hems will be demonstrated, from no-sew techniques using iron on tape, to hand sewing and ultimately machined hems on today’s woven and knit fabrics.  This is a great class for those who have been afraid to try basic repairs or want to learn the basics of machine sewing.

For those who do not haave much time and like quick results,this course is for you. Belle created this time tested hands-on course that is the ideal way to get you sewing quickly with professional looking results.  You will make 3 basic garments, a skirt, a top and a pair of pants using stretch knit fabrics that many clothes are made from today.  In the process you will learn multiple skills that can be used to make an entire wardrobe. You will no longer fear doing alterations on stretch knit fabrics and you will learn how to do hems using a twin needle to achieve that store bought look. Basic Sewing 101 or knowledge of a machine required for this class.  Sewing machines are provided as is advice if you are interested in purchasing your own. Limited to 6 students.

*First session 10-11 am is an orientation and discussion of materials.
