Guttenberg Center for Special Services
The JCC Guttenberg Center for Special Services is devoted to providing appropriate social and recreational programs for children, teens and adults with various disabilities. Based on the premise that all individuals should be provided with programming geared to meet their needs, the department continually looks for creative and innovative ways to serve the community.
The JCC is devoted to the philosophy that members should be able to register for any classes they could benefit from in an appropriate setting. The JCC staff will work with families to ensure proper staff be secured and proper accommodations are made when possible. Our classes are open to both JCC members and non-members.
Staff
The classes are staffed by professionals in the area of special education (most instructors have advanced degrees in special education, physical therapy, occupational therapy, music therapy, psychology, social work or speech therapy). Assistants are hired high school seniors and college students, and volunteers range from junior high students to mature adults. Inquire now for paid and volunteer positions for the fall.
